Underwriting a portion of the Friday Night
Session is a simple, effective and dirt cheap way to reach a chunk of
Bay Area residents as they make their way out to clubs on Friday night,
or as they sit back and relax after a week of work.
For only $260 you can count on over 3 months of underwriting (the college
radio way of saying advertising!) on one of the most popular radio shows
in the Bay Area.
The Friday Night Session runs from 10pm until 12pm every week on 90.3
FM KUSF in San Francisco - we regularly receive emails from listeners
as far away as Daly City, Berkeley and San Leandro. It’s also broadcast
live on the net at www.live365.com and is now available in streaming format
on this site. We regularly receive emails from web listeners in Seattle,
Detroit, New York, Vienna, and even Taiwan!
Hosted by San Francisco DJs Andrew Jervis (A&R man of Ubiquity Records)
and Tomas Palermo (Editor of XLR8R magazine) the Session has been running
since 1996 and continues to present the most vibrant selection of electronic
music on the San Francisco airwaves.
In addition to the full spectrum of future music - downtempo, broken beat,
nu-jazz, 2step as well as vintage jazz and funk cuts Jervis and Palermo
feature dubplates, exclusive DJ mixes, and ticket give-aways to the best
local clubs. Guests on the show have included Gilles Peterson, Kruder
and Dorfmeister, 4Hero, Kirk Degiorgio, Koop, Jimpster, Fauna Flash, King
Britt, Nobukazu Takemura, Tim “Love” Lee and guest mixes have
been provided by Rainer Truby (Compost Records, Germany), DJ DK (Ninja
Tune/Solid Steel, England), Chateau Flight (Versatile, France), Madlib
(Stones Throw, USA), John Beltran (Exceptional/Ubiquity UK/USA) and The
United Future Organisation (Talkin’ Loud/Japan)
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO?
1. Supply Tomas or Andrew with a press release or just some basic info
on your company. We will convert this into 30 seconds of copy for your
approval.
2. We will work with KUSF to produce an ad using music (of your choice)
and featuring the copy we agree on.
3. This 30 second underwriting cart can either run twice per show for
6 weeks, or once per show every week for 13 weeks.
4. Cost is just $260 payable in a check to KUSF.

1. We’ll give you a mention in the email blast that goes directly
to listeners signing up for the weekly playlist.
2. Good karma – KUSF doesn’t run on good will alone, we need
the $’s!
