DJ Tomas is a San Francisco-based DJ, producer, writer and music specialist. He’s been a radio broadcaster since the early-90s and co-founded Voltage Music, a boutique electronic music label.

DJ Tomas started his radio career in high school at 10-watt FM station KSFH in Mountain View. He moved to LA in 1988 and worked for seven years at KXLU 89.9-FM, one of the nation’s top college stations. In LA he co-founded Umoja Sound System DJ collective and produced and spun at club nights all over the city. Additionally, Tomas compiled CDs for Rhino Records and Quango and was a columnist for URB Magazine.

Relocating to San Francisco in 1997, Tomas joined Andrew Jervis on KUSF 90.3-FM’s Friday Night Session program. Around the same time he became a contributor and editor at XLR8R Magazine, a position he held until 2005. Tomas continues to work as a freelance writer and editor for several publications and DJs at electronic and reggae club nights. Tomas also runs Voltage Music, an electronic music label founded in 2000.

Andrew Jervis, Cez and Tomas currently co-host Friday Night Session broadcasts via KUSF-In-Exile.
